In early season 6, Gilligan wrote the episode "Drive" which at first glance seems a similar the plot to the 1972 Spielberg movie Duel, and featured his later leading man the episode's 'villain,' although he's much more complex and nuanced than that simple description. By the end of the series' 202 episode and 9 season run, Gilligan had written 30 episodes of the adventures of Dana Scully and Fox Mulder. ![]() Bryan Cranston (Walt) The X-Files Vince Gilligan, the humble creator of Breaking Bad, got his start writing and producing episodes of The X-Files, at one point even working his way up to creative consultant (which I imagine to be a weird job to give someone on a show about aliens).
